The Thirsty Village
The Thirsty Village
In the village of Surajpur, water was once abundant. Fields were green, and the river was full. Riya, an eighth-grader, loved nature and playing by the river.
One summer, a drought struck. The river dried up, and wells ran empty. Determined to help, Riya started a water-saving campaign with her friends. They made posters with slogans like "Save Water, Save Life" and taught the villagers how to conserve water by fixing leaks and collecting rainwater.
At first, the villagers were unsure, but they soon saw results. The wells refilled, and the fields turned green again. The village chief praised Riya and her friends for their efforts.
Riya's campaign showed that small actions can make a big difference. Surajpur learned the importance of saving water, ensuring a better future for everyone.
